Category: Field Meeting Reports

We provide a Field Meeting every month, which is a day, or sometimes two days, out at selected birding sites in Andalucia to watch and study birds and sometimes to participate in activities such as Ringing or Migration Watching.  These Field meetings offer a great learning experience.

• They provide an opportunity to learn more about Andalucia by visiting many places that you would probably never visit on your own.
• Your awareness of the many birding sites throughout Andalucia will increase as we visit most Provinces in the course of a year.
• Your skill at identifying species in the field will improve.
• Your ability to tell the difference between male and female, adult and immature and between similar species such as Crested Lark and Thekla Lark will also improve.
• Your knowledge about bird movement will be enhanced by seeing species or not seeing them at different times of the year and at different sites.
• The migration Field Trips gives the opportunity to strengthen your understanding about the migration of birds from Europe to Africa and vice versa.
• You will understand more about how different species relate to different habitats.
• Lunch time provides the chance to sample some wonderful Spanish cuisine at carefully selected eating places.
• You are in the company of friendly birders that have a whole range of knowledge and experience and who are happy to answer your questions.

Our Field Meetings are already enjoyed by many members, however, here we have published our Field Meeting Reports so that they can be enjoyed by many more.
