Event: ABS field meeting for June 2021

Date: Saturday 19th June 2021

Meeting Point: Restaurante Mesón los Alamillos

Start time: 9.00

Leader for the day: Frank Hair and Peter Jones

Information about the meeting:
If a good number of members attend, we will divide the meeting into 2 groups each led by either Frank or Peter. The areas we will visit in the morning will focus on the local mountain birds and those frequenting the surrounding valleys. The scenery is spectacular and the location is a favoured site for both Egyptian Vulture and Bonelli’s Eagle. We will gather for lunch at our meeting point for those wanting a sit down meal and drinks, those bringing a packed lunch can proceed to a parkland area nearby. The afternoon will see us visit a river and open habitat, a great place to sit and watch breeding Bee Eater. We will also visit a secluded upland mountain pasture and here we hope to find Thekla and Crested Lark, with a very good chance to see Orphean Warbler and Iberian Grey Shrike.
