Meeting point

Information about the meeting
La Janda is one of the most important areas in Southern Spain and is now being recognised as such. After lunch we will make our way to the marshes around Barbate which at this time of the year should be full of migrants.

Accommodation in the area
Check the ABS web site for corporate members in the area.

Clothing and Food
A packed lunch is the order of the day but there are plenty of ventas in the area for those who want a sit-down meal.

Possible birds
As this will be in the middle of the main autumn migration, we could see any of the birds which migrate between Europe and Africa.

Other sites in the area for those staying overnight
Tarifa is only a few Kilometres further south and is another excellent place for watching the autumn migration. Further north is the Laguna de Medina and anywhere along this cost is a good place for watching birds.

Notes:
1. We will ask a member to write a trip report for our experiences of the day.

2. Members can invite guests, but they must join the Society on the day for insurance purposes.

3. We will ask members in attendance to drop a voluntary micro-contribution in a collection box to help support a nominated ABS conservation project.

If you would like to help us in funding the many conservation projects we support please donate via this link here.
