Meeting Point:
Hotel Cortijo de Tajar, Exit 203 off the A92. Leave the motorway and follow towards Huétor Tajar and Hotel is on the left just before first roundabout.
Start time: 09.30
Leader for the day: Mick Richardson. Mick runs Granada Wildlife.
Information about the meeting:
We will start from the hotel and if the hunter numbers are low enough (I will check before coming to the meeting point) we will look for the Little Bustards and a few other bits on Huétor Fields before heading out to the fields near Moraleda looking for Black-bellied Sandgrouse. We will continue down the Valley checking Pine and Mixed Woodlands along the Rio Cacín and then we will check the Contra-embalse. Later we will climb up to the Cacín Ridge looking for Raptors and then circle back towards Moraleda looking for other species on the way.

Clothing and food:
Warm clothing but layers as it can warm up. Packed lunches as don’t want waste 2 hours eating at a bar, we will stop for a coffee on the way around if people wish.
Possible birds:
Little Bustard, Black-bellied Sandgrouse, Iberian Magpie, Iberian Grey Shrike, Golden Eagle, Bonelli’s Eagle, Marsh Harrier, Water Rail, Calandra Lark, Thekla Lark, Water Pipit, Reed Bunting, Bluethroat, Black Wheatear, Blue Rock Thrush, Little Owl and Eagle Owl + Others.
