Information about the meeting
This was going to be our AGM
but as some of the committee cannot attend, I have had to change the date for the AGM, we will still be going to this wonderful spot to do a bit of birding. we will meet in the carpark from where we can explore the geological features of El Torcal.

Accommodation in the area
Check the ABS web site

Clothing and Food
It will be hot at this time of the year so hats and plenty of water is advised. The visitor centre has a restaurant for lunch.

Possible birds
Black Wheatear, Blue Rock Thrush, Sardinian and Dartford Warblers, Griffon Vultures, Booted Eagle, Short toed Eagle, Rock Bunting, Rock Sparrow and plenty more.

Other sites in the area for those staying overnight
El Torcal is south of Antequera so Fuente de Piedra is not far away but it could be dry at this time of the year depends on how much water we get from now until then.

Notes:
1. We will ask a member to write a trip report for our experiences of the day.

2. Members can invite guests, but they must join the Society on the day for insurance purposes.

3. We will ask members in attendance to drop a voluntary micro-contribution in the collection box to show their appreciation for the day and help support the ABS Save our Swifts, conservation project, otherwise known as “Proyecto Vencejos” which in turn, aims to provide nest boxes to assist in restoring lost nesting sites. It is an immensely important work as these birds are under threat from nest site destruction.
