Information about the meeting
We will explore the Peñón de Zaframagón, where we will see one of the largest vulture colonels in Europe. Along with the fields and tracks that surround the Peñón.

Accommodation in the area
There are 2 hotels in Olvera along with several Airbnb rentals in the town.

Clothing and food
As this is the height of summer it will be hot so dress appropriately and bring plenty of water. There is no longer a venta at the Peñón so we can ether bring a packed lunch or return to Olvera for lunch in one on the numerous restaurants in Olvera.

Possible birds
This site is one of the best to see Griffon Vultures along with Golden Orioles, Bee-eaters, Sardinian and Dartford Warblers.

Other sites in the area for those staying over night
The sierra de Grazalema is only a few kilometers to the south of Olvera and this is also a good area to see both Griffon and Black Vultures.

Notes:
1. We will ask a member to write a trip report for our experiences of the day.

2. Members can invite guests, but they must join the Society on the day for insurance purposes.

3. We will ask members in attendance to drop a voluntary micro-contribution in a collection box to help support a nominated ABS conservation project.

If you would like to help us in funding the many conservation projects we support please donate via this link here.
