Event: Field Meeting followed by the Society’s EGM

Meeting Point: Visitor Centre Car Park Laguna Fuente de Piedra

Information about the meeting: The morning will be spent in general area of Laguna Fuente de Piedra. Our EGM will be held during lunch at a local venta (see notes below) meeting at 1300h or bring a packed lunch. After lunch those wishing to do further birding can reconvene by meeting again in the visitor centre car park at 14.30h.
Accommodation in the area: To be advised
Clothing and food: Expect cool weather with a little chance of rain. It can be cool, so we advise warm clothing. Food is available at various local ventas in the village or you can bring your own packed lunch.
Possible birds: Great Crested Grebe, Greater Flamingo, Spoonbill, Little Bustard, Red-Crested Pochard, White-Headed Duck, Shoveler, Teal, Gadwall, Lapwing, Black-winged Stilt, Common Snipe, Avocet, Gull sp., Stone Curlew, Common Buzzard, Hen Harrier, Black-winged Kite, Sparrowhawk, Merlin, Common Crane, Purple Swamphen, Water Rail, Little Owl, Hoopoe, Iberian Woodpecker, Water Pipit, Bluethroat, Reed Bunting and many more species.
Important note: If you have any difficulties booking, please send an email to the Society to reserve your place. We will hold our EGM during lunch at a local venta or the main conference room at the visitor’s centre at 1300h. Of course, birding will start at 0900h, meeting in the reserve visitor car park and continue until the indoor meeting at 1300h and then continue after a lunch break.

The Winter edition “Bird of Andalucía’, we hope to have copies to distribute to members attending the January field meeting.
1. We will ask a member to write a trip report for our experiences of the day.
2. Members can invite guests, but they must join the Society on the day for insurance purposes.
