Information about the meeting:
Important. Because the meeting is spread over the 2 days, see dates and times above, it is possible for members to attend only on 1 of the 2 days if preferred. For those wishing to attend both meetings see recommended accommodations below. When booking please confirm if you are attending 1 or both days.

Members attending this FM will be able to watch the Barn Owls of the hacking project, one of our conservation projects. We will start with a visit to the hacking room. We will feed the Barn owls and offer a small talk (powerpoint) about nocturnal raptors. Then, we will go out to see the Barn Owls fly. After, we will go for a dinner (restaurant or picnic) and finally, we will go to the olive tree area to hear and possible see Little Owl, Eagle Owl…

Next day, Sunday 23rd. we will go to the Cabra’s mountain area to watch birds of these mountains: Black Wheatears, Blue Rock Thrush, Chough etc..

Accommodation:
Hotel Mitra, Hotel Fuente Las Piedras (with pool), Hotel Villa María (center), Pensión Guerrero (center). All of these hotels are in Cabra.

Clothing and food:
It’s summer. Bring fresh clothes. It is possible to eat in a restaurant near the hacking room. It’s possible to eat in a picnic area.

Possible birds:
You will see Barn Owl. You can hear and possibly see Little owl, Red-necked Nightjar, Eurasian Scops Owl etc. Other sites in the area for those staying over night: This meeting starts at sunset and ends at night. The next day, early so as to avoid very hot temperatures, we will go to the mountain range of Cabra to see birds unique to that area.

NOTE:
1. We will ask a member to write a trip report for our experiences of the day.
2. Members can invite guests, but they must join the Society on the day for insurance purposes.
