Meeting Point: Car park the information centre – Fuente de Piedra.

Time: 0930hrs for the birding and 1300hrs for the OGM which will commence at 1300hrs

Leaders for the day: Frank Hair, John Brooks and Janet Dixon.

Directions to the meeting point:
The town of Fuente de Piedra is just off of the A92 motorway junction 132, and the information centre is at the other side of the town, check out Google maps for directions. Please note the OGM will be held at 1300hrs at the Campsite in Fuente de Piedra (see map above).

Information about the meeting:
We will be bird watching around the visitor’s centre at Fuente de Piedra, and then later we will hold our OGM, where annual accounts will be presented to members at the campsite in Fuente de Piedra (see map above). We will also discuss general matters relating to the Society and members will have the opportunity to ask questions of the Committee, or to put forward suggestions for consideration. Members are free to bird the afternoon around the nature reserve and surrounding area.

Clothing and food,
It can be cold and damp, so please bring suitable clothing; you can always remove layers as the need arises. Lunch may be taken at a local venta in the village for those who want a full meal. Other members may well be bringing a packed lunch.

Possible birds,
Common Crane, White-headed Duck, Little Bustard, Greater Flamingo, Stone Curlew aka Eurasian Thicknee, Jack Snipe, Hen Harrier, Merlin, Bluethroat, Reed Bunting and other interesting winter species.

We will be asking a member to write a trip report for the birding on the day.

Note: Members can invite guests, but they must join the Society on the day for insurance purposes.
