Rarity report: Common Rosefinch (Carpodacus erythrinus)

Rare Common Rose Finch
Another rarity for October was Common Rosefinch

While doing an eBird list at my terrace, near Cazalla observatory in Tarifa, a small bird flew into a very close Araucaria and immediately started calling. Both the looks and call seemed unfamiliar and I thought of a Common Rosefinch because of the general structure, heavy streaking on the lower parts and the quite long forked tail. It moved to a nearby bush and was able to take pictures and record the call.

Common Rose Finch
Plain to see how difficult this bird was to ID. Well done Yeray.

Upon closer inspection of the pictures I was able to confirm the ID. A very exciting backyard bird!
