November 16th Field Meeting

Photography opportunities for Black Wheatear at this meeting

We asked Antonio Pestana if he could let us know what birds we might expect to see during our next Field Meeting (November 16th). Although Antonio was at pains to point out the list is not exhaustive, it does give a flavour for what is in store for those attending the meeting.

In Bailon River’s canyon we will watch Griffon Vulture, Red-billed Chough, Spotless Starling, Blue Rock Thrush, Black Wheatear, Rock Bunting, Thekla Lark, Crested Lark, Crag Martin, Peregrine Falcon, Common Kestrel, Hoopoe, Common Stonechat, Song Thrush, Mistle Thrush, Iberian Grey Shrike…

In the area of Black Wheatear we can watch these birds very close and people with a camera can take photos. In this area we can also watch the powerful Bonelli’s Eagle.

For lunch we can go to the old train station. There is a place for a picnic lunch and a cheap restaurant. In this area we can also watch Common Crossbill.

At 6 pm we can go and try to watch and hear the Little Owl and Eagle Owl. During this time the Eagle Owl is singing all night. These birds and more!!

Sounds like it should be an amazing day, have you signed-up yet?
