Huerta Grande`s self-catering cottages and wooden log cabins are spread out within a 7 acres of woodland
Our 7 acres are nestled in a narrow gorge canuto that carries the sound of fresh water throughout the grounds. These canutos conserve a sub-tropical habitat unique in Europe: a dense foliage of rhododendron, laurel, ash, birch, oak, and even a rare species of carnivorous plants. Huerta Grande is a little way inland, roughly halfway between Gibraltar and Tarifa. During the bird migration months you will struggle to leave the Huerta Grande car park as raptors fly past. You can spot black kites, honey buzzards, Egyptian vultures, griffon vultures, and with a little bit of luck, the magnificent Ruppell´s Vulture. At night, sitting in the café terrace, you will be captivated by the Beater call as it crosses the Strait.
