¡Muchas gracias!

Hello. I'm so pleased to find this site - and in English, too! I live in Morocco, in Fez. I'd like to know if there are any good books on Moroccan birds. I've come across the Prion Birdwatchers' Guide to Morocco, but it was published in 2003. As there have been so many habitat changes since then, perhaps it's a bit out of date? Has anyone got any ideas?
thanks

Hi Helen,

There are a number of books dealing with birds in Morocco, but not clear since you mention the Prion Guide, whether you want an identification book or guide to birding areas?

If it is bird identification, then the most recent edition of the 'bible' Collins Bird Guide does cover the birds of Morocco pretty well, with the exception of only a few very rare species. You can purchase this edition through the ABS / Amazon discount store online. For your interest the link to this book is:

I hope this is helpful. Let us know if you need further assistance or have any queries.

Thanks, Peter. That's useful. I'd also be interested in guides to various birding areas in Morocco. Are there any in English?

The only one referring to birds and also some other wildlife is the Prion guide, although I accept it is a little out of date for some areas, it does serve well for finding good birding sites. See the link below Helen:

Hope this might be useful.
