¡Muchas gracias!

Sorry, I can't be there for tomorrow - it's a long way from the UK!  Have a good time and, please, let me know how you get on!

Well John you certainly missed a most enjoyable day and a fantastically well attended meeting. We did manage several Ring Ouzels and some of us also glimpsed Alpine Accentors. The weather could not have been better and I hope everyone enjoyed their day.

Thanks to one and all for making the day the best attended yet and it looks like, by popular request, that I have to get down to planning a 3 day tour to Morocco for the first half of December. Watch the Calendar section for news of this next trip (tour).

Thank you to all attending.  ;)

Just to say what a great day I had on Sunday with Peter and the rest of the members that could come.  This was a great site and I will be visiting it again on Wednesday and I will report if I see any Alpine Accentors. Once again thanks to Peter.

A perfect day. Thank you all for being so much fun, and thanks, Peter, for organizing it.

Till the next time!

Please can somebody just tell me what a dreadful day it really was and how you all wished you hadn't been there etc., etc!  I know it'd be a pack of lies, but it might just me feel better about not being able to be there!  Sound like a great day - I'm somewhat envious (not that you would have guessed!).
Then again I can't really complain as it was an unseasonally warm (18C!) & sunny day here in the UK and better still, I was lucky enough to see a Richards Pipit this morning (at Bockhill, Kent),

Sorry to disappoint you John but here's another member who had a great day out with the ABS on Sunday.  Really good birding and a fun lunch to boot.  What more could you wish for?  (Apart from John's presence ;))

Solo trip to the Sierra de Libar.
We set off early from Olvera and arrived at the same place where we parked the cars on Sunday.  Scanning the hawthorns there were lots of Ring Ouzels (we counted 15 in one bush) some were the sub specie (alpestis) from central and southern Europe.  Chiffchaffs and rock buntings flickered about in the lower branches along with Serins , Sardinian warblers and Blackcaps.  Over head were the Griffon Vultures, along with the Bonelli’s Eagles that Peter was talking about on Sunday (I have some photos but they were quit high and the photos need blowing up to see what they are).  As we sat and had a bite to eat everything went quite and a Male Sparrowhawk flew down the valley before turning right and flying back up the valley along the cliff face chasing a small flock of Serins.  We stared and stared at the rocks until we thought it was all moving, but no sign of any Alpine Accentors  as yet but we will be back to this exciting site.

Sounds very much like all enjoyed their day. It is a fantastic site and credit to Peter for sharing it. How many went to the trip?
