Hi all,

What started as a simply few pages for friends visiting our little house in Alcala de losGazules has grown and grown until it now runs to over 70 pages!  It was an interesting exercise to make me explore the area and simply too much fun to stop. It's also one way in which I can raise the profile of this fabulous area which far too few birders seem fully aware.  In fact, now that I've added over a dozen maps (and a shameless advert for our house) it's now too large to email directly.  However, if you'd like a copy then send me a private message with your email address and I'll forward the details of how to download them from the Z-share website (or various reasons I find it easier to do it this way).   

I'm acutely aware that there are several people (at least!) on this forum who have a MUCH more detailed knowledge of the area so please forgive errors (some of which will doubtless seem egregious to them).  I've deliberately included sites/routes about which I remain pretty ignorant so that others might be tempted to explore them more fully  and ammend my basic notes.  In essence what I'm trying to set up is an interactive guide to the area that can be easily updated,
