Si vives en España y te apasionan las aves, por favor, ¡ayúdanos a crear un mejor "fórum" ornitológico! Aquí en Andalucia Bird Society queremos y esperamos hacer de nuestro foro un recurso valioso, y tú puedes hacer una gran contribución: únete a nosotros y házte uno de nuestros primeros miembros castellano-parlantes.

Hasta la fecha, la casi totalidad de la gente adscrita a nuestra sociedad es no-nativa y, mientras apreciamos sus inestimables aportaciones, nos encantaría que la gente española amante de las aves formara también parte de nuestro grupo.

Queremos que personas que tienen el castellano como lengua materna escriban sus notícias y/o historias en "la lengua de Cervantes", y nos parecería maravilloso poder intercambiar opiniones, información, etc , con la gente del país. Somos muy conscientes también de que tú puedes tener notícias que no nos han llegado a nosotros y, además, de que podrías estar mejor informado que nosotros sobre ciertos temas de conservación. Así pues, por favor, ¡únete a nosotros y participa!

Lesser Flamingo Phoenicopterus minor (1-5)
(1-5) Málaga There were four at Fuentedepiedra lagoon flamingo breeding colony, Málaga on 2.5 (Paco Chiclana). On 5.5 there were 7 individuals (Peter Jones). On 15.5 there was an individual sitting on a nest in the breeding colony, with another standing in another point of it and two more in the lagoon but not nearby (Albert Burgas). Again on 30.5 four remain in the lagoon, one in the colony and three more near Cerro del Pino viewpoint (Hugues Dufourny & Véronique Buchet)

White-winged Black Tern Chlidonias leucopterus (1)
(1) Málaga Individual with several Black Terns at Fuente de Piedra 5.5 hawking over the wader scrapes near to the visitors centre (Peter Jones).

Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos (1)
(1) Málaga Individual on the wader scrapes near to the visitor’s centre at Fuente de Piedra 8.5 (Peter Jones).

Rüppell's Vulture Gyps rueppellii (1,2)
(1) Cádiz. A different bird from that seen on 30.3 was seen at Algeciras, Cádiz on 24.5 (Javier Eloriaga / Fundación Migres).
(2) Cádiz. A different bird from (1) was seen at Cazalla bird observatory, Tarifa, on 26.5(Javier Eloriaga / Fundación Migres).

Long-legged Buzzard Buteo rufinus (1,2,3,4)
(1) Badajoz On 1.5 a pale phase immature was seen at 'El Charnecal', at km.5 of BA-131, Usagre-Hinojosa, Badajoz (Xurxo Pinheiro).
(2) Cádiz. There was one at Trebujena marshes, Cádiz, on 7.5 (Paco Chiclana,Fernando del Valle, Ricardo Martín-Baylo y Rafa García).
(3) Cádiz. There was one rufous bird very close to the Ojen Valley just out of Facinas, Cádiz, on 11.5 (Graham Critchell)
(4) Cádiz. There was one bird on 17.5 at Tarifa, Cádiz (Miguel González y Pako Zufiaur).

Orange billed-tern Sterna sp. (1,2-3,)
(1) Almería There was an orange-billed tern of those 'elegant-tern like' (large billed, white rumped etc...) at Cabo de Gata saltpans, Almería, on 1.5 (Raimundo Martín). Probably the same bird was seen on 28.5 (Daniel Bosch)

Little Swift Apus affinis (1-5,6,7-8)
(1-5) Cádiz There were five at Guadalquivir river mouth, Cádiz, on 7.5 (Paco Chiclana,Fernando del Valle, Ricardo Martín-Baylo y Rafa García). There were seven at the same place and three occupied nests on 31.5 (Bob Hibbett)
(6) Sevilla. there was an individual at the Sevilla N sierra (Mario Martín, Ricardo Martín-Baylo y Fernando del Valle, Paco Chiclana)
(7-8) Cádiz There were seven at the same place and three occupied nests on 31.5 (Bob Hibbett). We consider five of the birds those already reported as (1-5) and therefore two new are added (ed. comment)

Marsh Warbler Acrocephalus palustris (1)
(1) Sevilla. A bird was reported at Isla Menor, Puebla del Río, Sevilla, between a poplar wood and a cultivade field (Paco Chiclana)

Uuum, Brenda has difficulty with English names for species and typical for those strange plant persons. For those who are curious and mere mortals like me then she was refering to Saddle-billed Stork or for those so inclined Ephippiorhynchus senegalensis::)
