PRESENTATION

tarifa6Conservation of the environment, biodiversity, threatened species in danger of extinction, desertification and cooperation for the development of sustainability… these are concepts and discussion used in our day to day work and yet each time draws less of our audience’s attention! It is a phenomenon worthy of importance and concern, bearing in mind that less than two decades ago these were concepts reserved to a limited group of our society and that, nowadays, are part of the principal worries of the majority. To find a formulae of management, involving the private sector, promoting the transition of habits, conducts and perception, towards models for generation of revenue according to the aims of conservation for our nature, sustainability and social equality, can be the most complex challenge, and should be the aim for all of us that are involved with working with our planet’s nature!

The International Bird Fair of Tarifa is the scene for the promotion of Andalucia as a destination, of our interior, of sustainable tourism, commercialisation, for developing debate, the training and sharing of the best experiences. It is a meeting point for those with an interest in work for conservation projects and developing business areas responsible for the Natural Way. Of course the International Bird Fair of Tarifa is also a wonderful opportunity to meet and inter-react with others sharing a common interest – NATURE!

And birds….
tarifa2At the end of the summer many species of bird leave the Western and Northern half of Europe to reach spaces during our winter where they will find a better climate and more abundant availability of food. The southern part of the Iberian Peninsula, the Maghreb and Trans-Saharian Africa, compose the principal destinations of the migratory species; this is the reason why the Strait of Gibraltar, from mid-August to mid-November, majestically turns into a place, which is a strategic step for the migration of Europeans’ birds, together with the straits of the Bosporus and Messina. The Bird Fair’s situation, together with the quantity and intensity of natural phenomena, awards this enclave, the Strait of Gibraltar, an important strategic value to geopolitical, cultural, in addition to economic and natural levels.

During the days of the Fair, the best houses of photography noth of national and international renown will be participating.

tarifaThe presence of a varied offer of stands for optics and accessories (prismatic, telescopes, tripods, telephoto lenses, etc.) will allow the visitor to know in detail the current and most up-to-date range on the market. In addition you will be able to rely on the advice of numerous professionals and to enjoy profitable conditions for the purchase.

Travel and Tourism
The sale of organized trips and “tailor made" tours, are one of the principal aims of the Travel Agencies that will exhibit at the Fair. You will be able to study their destinations and of course speak with the principle people involved in their tours, always a better way to choose your next birding or nature holiday! You will be able to choose tourist destinations in the most remote and nearby places of the planet, choose your first choice depending on the ecosystems, the fauna, and some species in particular or simply because it is a question of a good looking itinerary.

There will also be some organisations and administrations present that will not sell any program in particular, since their assignment is to promote the tourist destination they represent. They will be able to provide you with all the necessary information you need in order that you can make a trip to your own requirements and to a place that you had already considered or really want to visit.

new_logo_final_web_banner_editionWe cannot organise a Bird Fair and forget the nature enthusiasts that give birds refuge and food.
